I would drive by these hills and admire them everyday, but they really caught my attention when the slant of fall light created a glow that edged the trees while they were casting their long shadows. I vowed for days that I would paint them, but when I saw the fingernail of moon one afternoon hovering amongst the stand of trees, that clinched the deal for me.
