This handsome matzah cover has three pockets to separate the three symbolic pieces of unleavened bread. On one side, a unique emblem is designed out of a Jewish star, the eagle of freedom, a heart and a peace sign. Written on the other side in Hebrew are the watchwords “peace, love, freedom.”
During the Seder, the ceremonial meal of Passover, the middle matzah is broken, and one half, called the afikomen, is playfully hidden for the children to find later. A matching afikomen bag is included with this original, hand painted matzah cover.
