I stretched this paper (it is soaked in water, drained, then stapled down to a board), even though it has some tiny pinprick holes from a previous stretching, because I repurpose everything possible in the studio, and I thought I’d practice some cloud formations. Its mood changed from sunset to near dusk as I added continually darker layers. The pelicans arrived almost on their own, when the landscape was finished but missing the element of flight.
